Arsenal host Liverpool on Sunday knowing that a defeat against Slot’s side would open up a seven point gap between the two sides, whereas a defeat for Liverpool would still leave the Reds one point clear of the team that has finished runners up to Manchester City in each of the last two seasons.

Both sides won their mid-week Champions League games 1-0; Arsenal at home against Shakhtar Donetsk and the Reds away against Leipzig. Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth last weekend was their first loss of the season in all competitions and first in any competition since the 1-0 defeat at Bayern Munich in the Champions League back in April.
