The dream match that should’ve taken place last season during the Europa League campaign finally becomes a reality this season, as Anfield welcomes Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen - the side that went the entire 2023/24 league campaign un-defeated - to Anfield on Tuesday evening.

In the Bundesliga, Leverkusen drew 0-0 at home against Stuttgart on Friday evening, whilst Liverpool stormed back to win 2-1 against Brighton the following day to move top of the Premier League following Manchester City’s defeat at Bournemouth.
