When people spoke of Liverpool players who might be sold this summer, I always argued that Diogo Jota must stay, as he’s versatile, intelligent, and just a good bloke. I found him one of the Reds’ most likeable players.

That it’s been reported that he’s died in a car crash is heartbreaking. There’s no word on the official site at this point, but the entire news page is just images of remembrance.

If the reports are true, it’s hard to know what to make of someone dying so young, and not long past retirement, aged 70 or 80.

I’m in shock.

All my thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates.
