Paul Tomkins, Andrew Beasley, Daniel Rhodes and other TTT regulars will give their thoughts on the match for 24 hours after the game, so the article received via email is unlikely to be the final version. There's statistics from the match and videos too.

Post-Match Thoughts

Paul Tomkins

A standard and much-needed 3-0 win against big, physical, long-ball opponents, albeit with two further Liverpool goals (correctly chalked off) and no Liverpool players (correctly) sent off. The game was made all the harder by the Reds having a ton of players out injured, on the back of a tricky away European match on Thursday.

There was also an “is the ball over the byline?” call, but after the Newcastle vs Arsenal game, you had to feel that, similarly, there was a sense of it being 90% over, but not conclusively 100% over. It’s important to remember that you can see daylight between the bottom of the ball and the line and part of the ball still overhang it. If the linesman thinks it’s out, you can’t then prove it was still in, either.

Brentford's club motto: “Never let a not-actual head injury go without wasting five minutes”.

They make the most of their limited resources, with eight giants and two sprinters.

Thankfully Liverpool had all the class today.
