I wasn't going to write about this game, given the low stakes and my need to take some time off, but the game ended in such a positive way that I thought I'd add a shortened take.
It was a night of weird refereeing and positive VARing, with Liverpool finding some rhythm and energy, if not likely to fully turn any corners until after the World Cup. Still, it felt like a shot in the arm all the same – particularly as Napoli clearly came with a strong team intent on winning the game.
