Post-Match Thoughts
Paul Tomkins
The pollen has been so strangely high today, don’t you think?
I had to give up my ticket a few days before the game, as it was beyond my physical capabilities at the moment, but I can’t recall looking forward to the post-game activity, even on TV, more than the game itself.
I don’t cry at football. I don’t cry when losing Champions League finals. But this was emotional. The game was fun; but it was all about saying goodbye to Jürgen Klopp.
I’m not a fan of presentations, but it’s nice to see the departing players and coaching staff also get a send-off. And the league title still doesn’t feel fully celebrated. This was the next-best thing.
