Manchester City (Etihad) League Cup Last 16 Match Preview & Discussion Thread (22 Dec)

The Reds are finally back in domestic action!

And we’re back! The World Cup is over for another four years and it’s been four years 39 days since I last wrote a match preview about the Reds so I’m raring to go!

Liverpool’s first competitive match since the 3-1 win against Southampton last month, is a League Cup last 16 tie against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Thursday’s meeting will be the 8th between the two sides in this competition and the first since they faced off in the 2016 final at Wembley, which Man City won via penalties.
