My Day At The Match: Liverpool vs Chelsea
Jurgen Klopp's last league game against Chelsea could not have been a more satisfying victory
The first league game I saw under Jürgen Klopp was a 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace in 2017. Last night’s match well have been my last.
Fair to say, it’s hard to find a bigger contrast between two match day experiences.
The only thing better about that day seven years ago was the weather; it was a bitterly cold and windy day in Scouseland yesterday, but no one was taking any notice of that once the game had been kicked off, and the domination began.
It’s been a frustrating series of matches against Chelsea, with a run of draws that extends back to before I even started university – I am now writing my dissertation and heading into my final few ‘news’ days on my journalism course.
I thought we were due a win, but we didn’t just get any old win. It was an incredible display, where Liverpool well and truly outplayed Chelsea.
