Premier League Players at the World Cup, and World Cup Discussion Thread
For those who want to follow this hollow shitshow
(Note from PT: I’m boycotting the World Cup, albeit somewhat conveniently – ‘virtue never tested is no virtue at all’ – as I don’t follow the England team anymore, and so it’s not like I’m assuming the super moral high-ground. However, if people want to discuss it, and obviously the performances and injury-situations of Liverpool players, please use this thread.)
It’s November, and there’s a World Cup about to start (I was thinking of sub-titling this piece 'What World Cup?', but that would have seemed a bit denial-y). It would be an understatement to say there has been plenty of controversy surrounding this event.
Ex-FIFA President Sepp Blatter thinks that Qatar may not have been the right choice after all, but only on the grounds that it is too small, overlooking those small matters of fundamental human rights issues, same-sex relationships, women's rights and the treatment of migrant workers, not to mention a World Cup taking place slap in the middle of European league seasons.
It’s Subscribers only past this point.
